Flatish

Today I'm delighted to be bringing you a review of the wonderful theme Flatish by @jokerg7. This is his 5th theme and comes straight off the back of the success of 1Con. As you've probably guessed from the name Flatish is a flat styled theme, but with a twist as the base of the icons are flat yet the designs on the base are far from "flat".

Each design is made to give you not only the 3D effect of individual icons but great details of depth and shadowing around every single icon, so to call this theme the same as a flat theme would be a totally innaccurate description of this theme. Joker has definitely shown that he's got a great versatile skill in making themes, none of his themes look the same and this is a great example of that.

I've had great fun using this theme as it's not only colourful and a fun theme that you could use everyday and not get tired of it and you will always notice different things about this wonderfully fun theme, I think it's important that a theme should be a joy to use and to look at everyday as some themes can wear thin in its ability to totally hook you on it. And if you can pull that off like Joker has done here then your theme will be a success and I know this theme will totally grab you and not let you go, it's already getting great feedback on Twitter.

Let's get down to what you get from this theme, as it's only just been released for now you'll get a great Iconomatic that will give a shadow underneath the icons and you'll get all settings icons themed including a range of tweaks settings icons, also a iWidget is available which is a Time Of Day widget, and it's again a really fun widget that gives you a neat picture in the style of the theme, that includes a picture of a plane flying in the clouds and at night a rocket flying by the moon, another great addition to this theme.

As we all know developers are changing the names of icons all the time but Joker will update the theme as they are. All stock icons are themed except the pesky newsstand and clock icons, but a large number of icons are themed.

The great thing about this theme also is that it's compatible with "All" Retina devices so all you iPad owners will now be able to rock your iPad like all the iPhone owners can, and that's also important if you want your theme to be a big success as this way Joker has been able to make this theme available to a larger number of users and Jailbreak fans like myself as I feel that iPads are sort of left behind by developers.

This theme is available in Cydia now and you can find it in the featured theme section of Cydia, so get it now and make sure you purchase it in the correct way, check out the screenshots below.

miWeather8 Forecast

Today I bring you a review of miWeather8 by @JunesiPhone. As we all know June is the brains behind some of the best Lockbuilders and Lockscreens available to us all within the Jailbreak community, this great versatile Lockscreen tool uses GroovyLock to run it unlike LockBuilderEvo which uses Cydget (yet a GroovyLock LockBuilderEvo was available in iOS 7).

You won't get the same level of customisation as you did with LockBuilderEvo, but that is not a reason to ignore this great tweak as you can still customise this tweak, whether it's a range of options for weather to the Cataracs clock which is a box that has the time inside it and you can change the levels of transparency, you can change font style and colour and the usual like temp and conditions and the ability to change your wallpaper.

Whilst GroovyLock is awaiting it's imminent update you are required to respring your device after changing wallpaper or settings. If your a fan of being able to customise your LockScreen or you are a fan of LockBuilderEvo then this is definitely a tweak for you. This tweak runs so smoothly on your iPhone and I've had great pleasure using this tweak and let's face it, if you enjoy using something like this and find its usability as great as I did then the Dev has done a great job, this is yet another example of June's competence and skill at coding great tweaks like this.

When you've chosen your desired set up then you'll be greeted by your wallpaper and to each side of the screen you will find a tiny arrow, if you tap on the one on the right you'll have a weather forecast slide into the screen from the right, and coming in the update is a calendar also which I've had the pleasure of testing and its a great addition to miWeather Forecast, and if you press the arrow on left you'll have a circle which displays your battery and memory come in from left of screen and 3 toggles underneath 1) WiFi toggle 2) Bluetooth toggle 3) Location Toggle.

This great LockScreen tweak is in Cydia now and is free if you purchased miWeather8. Go grab your copy now, and as always please support your Dev by purchasing in the correct way. This isn't the last tweak we will see from June I'm sure, also check out June's great website JunesiPhone.com for all your Jailbreak answers. Please check out the screenshots below.

Swee7

Today I bring you a review of Swee7 by @iOS_writer. This theme is how themes used to be, it's got a great iOS 5/6 style to it which I love, themes that have a fun design and don't take themselves seriously. Whether it's the stock icons or AppStore icons each one is individually designed to make the user experience fun and a pleasure to look at. Throughout this theme you'll find great UI touches too, from the ControlCentre to the UI loaders and even some UI tweaks to the Cydia pages in the tabs and even the icons next to each package in Cydia is themed too. With this theme you'll get an iWidget, classicbadges and an Iconomatic by @ATT_57 which just softens the look of the icons and a gentle shadow underneath them. This theme has recently been updated to work on iOS 8 as well as iOS 7. The colourkeyboard works on iOS 7 but the tweak hasn't been updated for iOS 8, but you can get apps to change colour and style from AppStore so that doesn't matter. This theme is compatible with all devices. It's in Cydia now and is a fantastic fun and good theme that really brings back how themes used to look in the good old days lol. Please check out the screenshots below and as with any theme or tweak please purchase in the correct way. Piracy harms us all.

Zen8

Today I'm pleased to bring you my review of the expertly designed and outstanding new theme by @JunesiPhone called Zen8. This was the first iOS 8 theme ready for when the new jailbreak landed, as you'll probably of seen on Twitter there has been a lot of hype surrounding this theme, but to be honest there is always a big interest when June drops a new theme as he's one of the best designers and developers around and he never fails to deliver top quality themes. First off you'll notice that it's different from other themes that have been released as of late due to the fact of a great colour scheme and it just flows seamlessly from page to page on your springboard and even into the settings icons. Each icon is made from scratch and a massive amount of icons have been themed, from AppStore apps to Cydia apps and of course stock icons. Gentle UI touches have been made where they can be (more will be made available to theme when Winterboard is updated) like the control centre has been tweaked and UI knobs and sliders. You get 5 iWidgets with this cracking theme ranging from clocks to full weather forecast widgets and 5 Iconomatic themes ranging from subtle shadow to a detailed border, and a large selection of wallpapers are available on iDeviceWalls.com and also inside the MMi thread. Yet again June has stepped back into the theme scene and smashed it yet again but then that's what we've come to expect from June. The best way to set this theme up is to theme badges using the free BlurryBadges tweak, remove the stock dock by installing SBHTML and then use whatever icon arranging tool that you prefer. This theme is a definite must have on any iOS 8 or 7 iPhone 5/5c/5s/6/6+. Whilst using this theme you'll see the quality design and engineering in each individual icon and UI element, don't take my word for it check out the screenshots below and you'll agree it's stunningly different variation on theme making, and different is what keeps things interesting we should always strive to push ourselves in life and seeing Devs take risks and push the boundaries of design is always a good thing for the Dev and for us as we get the fun of being able to rock our devices with great themes that Devs like June produce for us. A great lockscreen tool to use with Zen8 is miWeather8 which is available in Cydia right now. Zen8 has now been released in Cydia and can be found on the Macciti repo, as with all themes I review I would ask that you purchase this in the correct manner and support Devs to continue bringing us great themes.

Vogue

Today's review is about the Stylish and stunning theme Vogue by @xpprem. I had the greatest pleasure of beta testing this theme with Xpprem and @iAzaleea and I must say it was a great experience working with these 2 talented and down to earth people. Vogue is totally different to any other theme available, it's very retro in some aspects but also totally original and I've not seen another theme that even looks remotely like Vogue, right down from the icons to the dynamic walls by @iAzaleea this theme is such a refreshing piece of design work. You will struggle to find icons that haven't been themed as Xpprem had us both send all the bundles of apps we use so he could design his own, even the wifi signal bars are in the same style and shape as the icons. Included in this theme is 4 iconomatic themes a huge selection of wallpapers and an app icon mask to make any un themed icons the same shape as the themed icons and a classicdock. We spent a lot of time testing different images and gradients in icons to make sure they looked perfect and it was fun doing it and trying and testing new wallpapers and even discussing things like the name and I think the name is quite apt for this beautifully designed theme as we all know the word Vogue as it's a description for beauty (and if you don't know it from that then you've heard of the magazine Vogue lol). This theme has really pushed Xpprem to a new extreme getting him to come out of his comfort zone and in attempting to do this actually pulling others out of theirs also as this theme does really take a hold of you once you've installed it and set it up just how you like it. I couldn't pull myself away from it once I'd installed it for the first time and that was in early beta stage, and it was a looker then too, it is just a pleasure to look at when you unlock your iPhone and even when in the settings app you'll feel the same as all popular tweaks have their own settings icon as well as all stock being themed. As with all Xpprem's themes you really do get the full package, well as much as iOS 7 allows themers to theme. Make sure you check out the screenshots below and please purchase this theme in the correct way. Make your iPhone Stylish and Elegant with Vogue.

Lockbuilder Evolution Update.

Hi guys I know I've done a review for LockBuilderEvo already but that was in the early days of this great Lockscreen tweak and since then this tweak has grown into something even more spectacular than I first wrote about. Not only has the UI been updated but also it's features and it's capabilities has also grown and grown, for instance you can design a setup with widgets or elements like weather, time and save them to your Springboard (SBHTML required (free in Cydia). Also June has now made a LockBuilderEvo for GroovyLock, meaning now you don't need Cydget to run LockBuilderEvo, just GroovyLock. The amount of elements you can have for your Lockscreen is incredible ranging from Rude Forecast which we all love, to individual weather forecast icons for certain days (up to 4 days) you can set your City, Country and even Neighbourhood. It's very easy to use, when you swipe left on your Lockscreen you will see options like, Elements, Widgets (normal and animated) Weather Background, Icons, Wallpaper and Wallsite which sends you to the LBEvo site thanks to Gunny29, where you can get wallpapers, themes and even other widgets, a lot of thought and hard work has gone into making this tweak very user friendly. If you click on Elements it's broken down into sections 1) Weather, 2) Clocks, 3) Texts, 4) Local, 5) Notify, 6) System and 7) Create. An example of the changes in the UI is the new colour chooser, it's a brilliantly designed colour selector with an arrow that you can move to wherever you want and if you can't find your colour you can either type the colour code in to where it says enter or now you can select Get Colour From Wallpaper which opens safari and then if you select choose file it opens up photos so you can select the wallpaper you want and touch areas of the wallpaper and it will give you the code for that colour then you can just enter the text code. June really has grown not only as a designer but also as a great developer, this guy is just outstanding at coding, and I've been privileged enough to watch what he creates as one of his beta testers, what June can do is nothing short of amazing. Another new feature is the swipe down on Lockscreen where it will let you choose Last App visited, Settings , Save , Load and even Respring, this again shows Junes attention to not only detail but user experience. As with before you can still add icons to your Lockscreen, another new feature is the change in the shadow selector which now incorporates sliders to select your shadows on the text on Lockscreen. Iconoclasm is also incorporated into the options so you can add icon layouts to your Lockscreen themes. You can add GroovyLock overlays to your themes and normal Overlays, also is a wallpaper fix button which will remove the wallpaper trapped underneath and now June has added a Alert Memory button which tells you about your free memory and then by pressing ok it frees up memory on your device. I will also add that LockBuilderEvo is now available for iPad. LockBuilderEvo is live in Cydia now, and new themes are being released daily by not only June but by users who build their themes and submit them to June and then they are put on Cydia for others to use for free. Check out the Screenshots below to give you an idea on how this fantastic Lockscreen tweak works. I can't really do this theme any justice with words so check out the pictures below and go grab your copy now. Please support Devs by purchasing your tweaks in the correct way to keep great Devs like June bringing us more great stuff for our iDevices.

Votive

This is my review of the theme Votive by @StudioProz and @MTK_Design. These guys have teamed up for the first time to bring us this stunning theme, and in my opinion this is a great team up and it's proving to be a great success as far as partnerships goes. What we forget as users of these great themes is that this partnership isn't just a coming together of great designing and combining different design skills but it also forms great friendships around the world, and this is something that people don't realise, but it's great to see. Right now let's get back to theme, the theme does have a flat element to its design but don't think to yourself "oh no not another flat theme" because it's not like the others in the slightest, this has a real sense of purpose in its design, it's not just a flat theme as you could easily change it's perception with different Iconomatics which are included in this great theme and also being made available on the ModMyI forum and one person in particular I have to give a shout out to in this review is Stephane (@Attairdu57slm) who is killing the Votive forum with fantastic wallpapers and Iconomatics, this guy has made a big contribution to Votive and I'm sure @StudioProz & @MTK_Design would agree with that Votive wouldn't be the same without his splashes of inspirational design thrown into the theme. With this theme you'll get splash screens, Iconomatics and wallpapers and classicdocks and a large collection of badges, and if you own a copy of Lockbuilder Evo I've done a theme for Votive, if you want to get the best from this theme you need to be heading over to the ModMyI forum and see what's happening. This cross Atlantic partnership is still going from strength to strength as you read this review. Please take your time to check out the screenshots for this theme as I can't put into words how massively impressed I am by this theme and the great vibe that this theme is creating in the forum. I really hope we see more from these 2 great guys as I can't wait to see what they bring us next.

Emoji's

I just wanted to write a little review to show some appreciation to @Jato_BZ and @Chris_Graphix for their hard work with the new emoji's these guys have made. Jato has been extracting artwork from the iOS software for some time now to find a way of theming emoji's for our iPhone's, and after months of extracting and recompiling he hit the jackpot. Chris has been designing the emoji's and so far has made RoboCop, IronMan, Stormtroopers and Hello Kitty emoji's. These emoji's are quite simply fantastic and have really put the joy and fun back into jailbreaking and is a brilliant edition to the jailbreaking scene. I've followed Jato's work on twitter for quite some time and seen the work that it has taken and the time and patience it has taken for him to get to a stage where himself and Chris could make our keyboards more fun to use. I have absolutely enjoyed these emoji's since installing the RoboCop version. Due to the work these guys have done and the time and effort that this has taken it is as simple as going into BytaFont and selecting emoji's in the settings for keyboards. I will provide some screenshots for you to see just how great this really is and how much fun you'll have typing messages and emails to your friends and family, there is a thread which has been opened on the MMI forum by Chris while on the forum you'll find a link where you can donate to these guys. Chris has done a brilliant job of making these emoji's look great they don't look out of place in the keyboard in the slightest, they look like Apple put them there themselves that's how good they are. These emoji's are now compatible with iOS 6 and 7, and you will need BytaFont for iOS 6 and BytaFont 2 for iOS 7, and the emoji's are free inside Cydia. Give these guys a follow on Twitter and see what else these guys are working on for the future. These little things take a lot of work for someone to get it on to our iPhone's and these guys have worked really hard, whether it's Jato extracting and recompiling images and code or whether it's Chris designing the emoji's. I just thought that these guys deserved some recognition for their hard work. I look forward to you guys bringing more joy to my typing experience. If you appreciate the hard work these guys have put in to these emoji's then feel free to donate to them. Thanks again for these great emoji's. emojis4all@chrisgraphix.fr
