Lockbuilder Evolution Update.

Hi guys I know I've done a review for LockBuilderEvo already but that was in the early days of this great Lockscreen tweak and since then this tweak has grown into something even more spectacular than I first wrote about. Not only has the UI been updated but also it's features and it's capabilities has also grown and grown, for instance you can design a setup with widgets or elements like weather, time and save them to your Springboard (SBHTML required (free in Cydia). Also June has now made a LockBuilderEvo for GroovyLock, meaning now you don't need Cydget to run LockBuilderEvo, just GroovyLock. The amount of elements you can have for your Lockscreen is incredible ranging from Rude Forecast which we all love, to individual weather forecast icons for certain days (up to 4 days) you can set your City, Country and even Neighbourhood. It's very easy to use, when you swipe left on your Lockscreen you will see options like, Elements, Widgets (normal and animated) Weather Background, Icons, Wallpaper and Wallsite which sends you to the LBEvo site thanks to Gunny29, where you can get wallpapers, themes and even other widgets, a lot of thought and hard work has gone into making this tweak very user friendly. If you click on Elements it's broken down into sections 1) Weather, 2) Clocks, 3) Texts, 4) Local, 5) Notify, 6) System and 7) Create. An example of the changes in the UI is the new colour chooser, it's a brilliantly designed colour selector with an arrow that you can move to wherever you want and if you can't find your colour you can either type the colour code in to where it says enter or now you can select Get Colour From Wallpaper which opens safari and then if you select choose file it opens up photos so you can select the wallpaper you want and touch areas of the wallpaper and it will give you the code for that colour then you can just enter the text code. June really has grown not only as a designer but also as a great developer, this guy is just outstanding at coding, and I've been privileged enough to watch what he creates as one of his beta testers, what June can do is nothing short of amazing. Another new feature is the swipe down on Lockscreen where it will let you choose Last App visited, Settings , Save , Load and even Respring, this again shows Junes attention to not only detail but user experience. As with before you can still add icons to your Lockscreen, another new feature is the change in the shadow selector which now incorporates sliders to select your shadows on the text on Lockscreen. Iconoclasm is also incorporated into the options so you can add icon layouts to your Lockscreen themes. You can add GroovyLock overlays to your themes and normal Overlays, also is a wallpaper fix button which will remove the wallpaper trapped underneath and now June has added a Alert Memory button which tells you about your free memory and then by pressing ok it frees up memory on your device. I will also add that LockBuilderEvo is now available for iPad. LockBuilderEvo is live in Cydia now, and new themes are being released daily by not only June but by users who build their themes and submit them to June and then they are put on Cydia for others to use for free. Check out the Screenshots below to give you an idea on how this fantastic Lockscreen tweak works. I can't really do this theme any justice with words so check out the pictures below and go grab your copy now. Please support Devs by purchasing your tweaks in the correct way to keep great Devs like June bringing us more great stuff for our iDevices.

Votive

This is my review of the theme Votive by @StudioProz and @MTK_Design. These guys have teamed up for the first time to bring us this stunning theme, and in my opinion this is a great team up and it's proving to be a great success as far as partnerships goes. What we forget as users of these great themes is that this partnership isn't just a coming together of great designing and combining different design skills but it also forms great friendships around the world, and this is something that people don't realise, but it's great to see. Right now let's get back to theme, the theme does have a flat element to its design but don't think to yourself "oh no not another flat theme" because it's not like the others in the slightest, this has a real sense of purpose in its design, it's not just a flat theme as you could easily change it's perception with different Iconomatics which are included in this great theme and also being made available on the ModMyI forum and one person in particular I have to give a shout out to in this review is Stephane (@Attairdu57slm) who is killing the Votive forum with fantastic wallpapers and Iconomatics, this guy has made a big contribution to Votive and I'm sure @StudioProz & @MTK_Design would agree with that Votive wouldn't be the same without his splashes of inspirational design thrown into the theme. With this theme you'll get splash screens, Iconomatics and wallpapers and classicdocks and a large collection of badges, and if you own a copy of Lockbuilder Evo I've done a theme for Votive, if you want to get the best from this theme you need to be heading over to the ModMyI forum and see what's happening. This cross Atlantic partnership is still going from strength to strength as you read this review. Please take your time to check out the screenshots for this theme as I can't put into words how massively impressed I am by this theme and the great vibe that this theme is creating in the forum. I really hope we see more from these 2 great guys as I can't wait to see what they bring us next.

Emoji's

I just wanted to write a little review to show some appreciation to @Jato_BZ and @Chris_Graphix for their hard work with the new emoji's these guys have made. Jato has been extracting artwork from the iOS software for some time now to find a way of theming emoji's for our iPhone's, and after months of extracting and recompiling he hit the jackpot. Chris has been designing the emoji's and so far has made RoboCop, IronMan, Stormtroopers and Hello Kitty emoji's. These emoji's are quite simply fantastic and have really put the joy and fun back into jailbreaking and is a brilliant edition to the jailbreaking scene. I've followed Jato's work on twitter for quite some time and seen the work that it has taken and the time and patience it has taken for him to get to a stage where himself and Chris could make our keyboards more fun to use. I have absolutely enjoyed these emoji's since installing the RoboCop version. Due to the work these guys have done and the time and effort that this has taken it is as simple as going into BytaFont and selecting emoji's in the settings for keyboards. I will provide some screenshots for you to see just how great this really is and how much fun you'll have typing messages and emails to your friends and family, there is a thread which has been opened on the MMI forum by Chris while on the forum you'll find a link where you can donate to these guys. Chris has done a brilliant job of making these emoji's look great they don't look out of place in the keyboard in the slightest, they look like Apple put them there themselves that's how good they are. These emoji's are now compatible with iOS 6 and 7, and you will need BytaFont for iOS 6 and BytaFont 2 for iOS 7, and the emoji's are free inside Cydia. Give these guys a follow on Twitter and see what else these guys are working on for the future. These little things take a lot of work for someone to get it on to our iPhone's and these guys have worked really hard, whether it's Jato extracting and recompiling images and code or whether it's Chris designing the emoji's. I just thought that these guys deserved some recognition for their hard work. I look forward to you guys bringing more joy to my typing experience. If you appreciate the hard work these guys have put in to these emoji's then feel free to donate to them. Thanks again for these great emoji's. emojis4all@chrisgraphix.fr

Cryogenics

Today it gives me great pleasure to bring you a review of a really great theme which is the Developers first attempt at a full theme, this theme is Cryogenics by JohnnyBlueJ, he has in the past made icons for other themes and this is as he quoted "his full theme endeavour" and what an endeavour this is. After installing the theme and selecting the elements inside Winterboard, which is a tough choice as their is a really good selection of elements to choose from, whether it's the 3 boot logos to choose from or the 8 iconomatics which come in a selection of colours from pink to charcoal to blue or the 6 classicdocks and a selection of Alternate calendars and status bars, also a colourkeyboard is included in the theme which just looks like your fingers would freeze if you touched it. To start with I chose the Cryogenics iconomatic and chamber dock and selected my boot logo and hit respring and waited for my iPhone to boot up again, straight away I was pleasantly pleased by the boot logo I then unlocked my iPhone and was greeted with what I can honestly say was icons that had been frozen by cryogenics, just as the title suggests. Each icon is brilliantly created to give you the feel that your iPhone is in a cryogenic state, and their is some subtle hints that John could be a Batman fan as shown in the contacts icon, every icon just works fantastically in this theme, for someone who's making his first full theme debut this really is a masterpiece in the making, small details like the message icon saying "it's cold in here" really shows that John has great passion for making this theme a class act, I don't know many first time themers that include 32 wallpapers in their first theme, and not just any wallpaper these are some of the best I've seen in a theme, theirs a wallpaper to suit any of the coloured iconomatics and to suit the Cryogenics iconomatic which is a really cold looking white you really do get a fantastic selection to choose from. This theme is still in early stages and only available on the private repo and if this is only the beginning of what is to come from John then I for one am very excited. Making icons and making a full theme is a very different ball game altogether and John is showing that he's got the skills to do this and do it well, very well. I am a massive fan of this theme and I've been using it for a few days now and I'm enjoying looking at my phone and messing around with all the different selections you can have. He's picked a great subject to build a theme around and he's not lost sight of what he set out to do, it really is a well planned out and designed theme, he said he wasn't a graphic designer, but he's showing that he has great design skills and is a capable designer and has the ability to deliver quality icons and superb UI touches all the way through the theme. He did say that he's had great support from Heine and IryanKGT and Xlib from the repo and considers them friends. John has started out like most of us in the Jailbreak community, a fan of modding his phone and generally a Jailbreak enthusiast. You can obtain a copy of this theme by visiting iosrepo.com and from there you can choose the package you want. There is a thread on the MMI forum so be sure to check it out. And give John a follow on Twitter @johnnybosje. And please make sure you check the screenshots below to get a real of this theme and and how great it looks. I'd also like to thank John for great correspondence and giving me about of an insight to how he got started, and for this great theme. Cryogenics is going to be a big hit and I'm pretty sure we will see it in the featured theme section in Cydia as in my opinion it should already have a slot waiting for it. Fantastic theme John and I wish you all the success with this theme and I look forward to seeing more work from you.

iMX

Today's review is of another great theme by Xpprem, this theme comes directly after VectrOS which like all of Xpprem's themes is beautifully designed and each icon crafted to give the user a extremely pleasurable experience while using their iPhone. This stunning theme comes with 2 icon sets, 1 black and 1 white, no matter which colour you decide to use you will be greeted with carefully and precisely designed icons, which is what we've come to expect from Xpprem as time after time he delivers fantastically crafted icons as well as carefully tweaked UI touches, as you will see for example the red spinning loader that spins by the sources tab in Cydia and the loading box in Cydia which shows his remarkable eye for detail and making sure it doesn't over power other elements of the theme. The Cydia tabs are themed with great small details (check screenshots below) the same goes for the AppStore tabs also. As with all of @xpprem themes you will have plenty of elements to choose from inside Winterboard, from Iconomatic themes and a classic badge theme and ClassicDock theme and not forgetting the choice of icon colours and settings icons for both coloured icon sets. With the Iconomatic themes Xpprem has managed to give so much depth and shape to these cracking icons, with the shadows available he's managed to pull off making the icons look like they are floating on your Springboard, which is great as when iOS 7 dropped we were all shocked at how "flat" the stock icons were and themers were concerned they wouldn't be able to give us the icons we all loved due to Apple changing how the icon platform worked, but with these Iconomatic themes Xpprem has really given shape and depth to these icons, but if your a fan of "flat" you can activate a square mask in Winterboard and also a flat square Iconomatic, so their is options for all sorts of tastes. All the stock Apple icons are themed as well as most popular apps and Cydia apps also themed, also included is a ColourKeyboard theme a SBHTML theme and the Control Centre is themed and also is a great boot logo for iMX. This really is as full a theme as possible with iOS 7 and yet another classic in the making from @Xpprem and I very much doubt and hope it will not be the last theme we see from him. A lot of extras are available on the MMi thread, from extra icons to docks and plenty of other options, be sure to check the thread out. This guy is a fantastic designer and has a great passion for design, and in my opinion if someone has a passion for design it shows in their work, and yet again this is clearly visible to see throughout the entire theme, if their is an icon you need then drop him an email and he will do his upmost to get it done for you as quickly as he can. If you've experienced Xpprem's previous work like iForce, SeptemOS or his famous white collection or PlasMUI for example then you will know that you get a high standard of quality and design and he has not let us down with his new theme iMX, in fact yet again he hasn't just delivered he's absolutely smashed it yet again, their is nothing that this guy can't do in the design stakes, he just delivers, and it's not just themes, a while back he made some amazing weather icons and he's made some fantastic iwidgets with the themes mentioned above. I for one look forward to more themes coming from Xpprem in the future as I'm sure you will. Make sure you check his other themes out, iMX is live in Cydia now so be sure to check it out, and as always please support the developer by purchasing this theme in the correct way and check out the screenshots below.

Gunnii

Today I bring you a review of the beautiful Gunnii by @Djetouch, Gunnii comes straight after the success of Sep7 and FUEL. Dj took a big risk in designing something which he's not used to designing, a flat theme, not just any sort of flat theme though, a beautiful and softly colourful theme. Dj has shown his capabilities as a designer and proving that his design styles are very versatile and that he can undertake any challenge he faces as a designer. Every time you unlock your iPhone you'll be greeted with beautifully and softly crafted icons which give a warming welcome to you as you gaze upon your springboard, as with Sep7 you'll be wanting to keep unlocking your iPhone so you can keep looking at each of these beautifully and well thought out icons. As with any theme Dj creates you get the full package, from gentle UI touches down to Iconomatic themes which have carefully been made to not take the attention away from the icons and not overpowering them, again this shows Dj's attention to detail and his intention to make sure nothing is taken away from the icons, you'll find 2 iconomatic themes in this theme as well as plenty of elements inside Winterboard to theme the UI and Control Centre as well as Activator and UI sounds. Settings icons are themed and themed beautifully, and Cydia tweaks settings icons are also themed. Once you've activated Gunnii inside Winterboard and respring you'll be greeted with a small retro Apple logo, which just starts this wonderful theme off, Cydia tabs at bottom of screen are themed and keep with the soft feel of the theme (check screenshots below) also the reloading alert in Cydia is themed with a wonderful circle design which spins to the outer edge of the outside circle of the box. AppStore tabs are also themed softly. Status bar is themed also, as this theme has just been released Dj will keep adding more gentle UI touches as well as icons that are requested by users. I would like to congratulate Dj for this fantastic theme and look forward to more themes from you. Dj is bringing quality themes to this community and keeps proving his skills by bringing cracking and user friendly themes which always deliver great icons and UI and none of his themes look similar as he always goes out of his comfort zone and this time as ever he has really nailed it, you have to be a really competent and versatile designer to keep people guessing what you will do next and to keep pushing your boundaries, not only is this a good thing for the user but this will just keep improving Dj's skills and will cement his name in the Jailbreak community for years to come. As with Sep7 Dj has really taken my breathe away with this theme and I'm sure it will with you too. Check out the screenshots below as I can't do this theme justice with words, this theme speaks for itself and I guarantee you'll keep this theme installed on your iPhone for a long time. It's live in Cydia now, and please support the developer by purchasing in the right way. Check out the screenshots and thank you for the support.
